Aduni Guedes is a percussion researcher, multi-instrumentalist and artist from Recife, Brazil. Thorough his upbringing, surrounded by the local folkloric dances and music, including Coco de Roda, Afoxé, Maracatu, samba-reggae, Frevo, and Cavalo-marinho, he was lead to research music and the black diaspora within percussion, exploring Afro-Cuban rhythms and traditional West African music.

 

In 2019, he relocated to Berlin, where he performs with well-known names in the scene, such as Abasé, ZFEX, Bantunagojeje, and Sonic Interventions. He is currently preparing for the release of his first solo album, which reflects his diverse influences and artistic journey, blending traditional rhythms with his modern sonic universe.

 

His teachers and collaborators include: Bangaly Konaté, Doudou Thione Rose, Moustapha Diene, Vitor Araújo, Grupo Höröyá, Lucas dos Prazeres, Ekò Afrobeat, Fabiana Cozza, Karynna Spinelli and Baby do Brasil (Novos Baianos) to name but a few.
