Community and collective experience; these are the main drivers for Henry’s music. Taking inspiration from jazz, folklore, mythology and their Brazilian heritage, Henry uses the saxophone to perform through melodic improvisation and motivic development, incorporating sampling and field recordings to craft site-specific live musical performances. Storytelling and personal experiences shape Henry’s direction, whilst masks and symbolism are used to subvert expectations tied with the saxophone to allow audiences to project their own experiences and stories onto each performance.

Henry has held residencies at Audio Technica’s Analogue Foundation and recorded and performed at the Berlin institutions Kraftwerk and Ohm. As well as live performances, Henry is a resident on Refuge Worldwide radio and a contributor for WeJazz Magazine.
